One word can sum up *lien's gallery, and that one word is texture! A lot of it, too. In Wake Alone we see his talent for the subtle while still showing us the magnificent flow of his (yes, you guessed it!) textures. Make sure you fullview this beauty! (Featured by `JesusIV)

a dark lonely beauty...in some places it has a feel of burnt wood and there's a warm golden shine....but the window is narrow...it's hard to look out....
I love it

this is a lot busier than some of your other work,
it has more going on,

i like the contrast of the gold color against the black,

are all these paintings on pre-stretched canvas, or do you paint on unstretched canvas,

just because if they are pre-stretched, where so you keep them all,
i've run out of room at home, i need another house to keep them in

A proposito del sueño, esa siniestra aventura de todas nuestras noches, podriamos decir que los hombres se acuestan con una osadia incomprensible, sino supieramos que es a causa de la ignorancia del grave peligro

and the wind from the window did not blow this night-
very mysterious, of course, gorgeous
:iconlien:
"and the wind from the window did not blow this nigh"...that's a great line, and thank you so much...
:iconlien:
Thank you very much indeed...

yes...i lent much more into representation in this piece than is usual in my work.

they are all on stretched canvas (occasionally hessian) i don't like to work on a solid surface, i like the 'give' and movement i get from canvas.

so yes, my apartment walls are heavy with paintings and i'm running out of space...oh for a decent agent...
:iconlivin-a-life:
"oh for a decent agent"
amen to that

Everyone seem to be seeing it as a window, but when I 1st saw it I thought it was an aerial shot of a bed (with a bookcase for head board). The bed is empty, as one likes to sleep alone. At least I don't.

Then I thought the frame was a door & the windows were on either side of it, with the glow coming through...like a call in the night or a candle by the window waiting for that special person to come back home.
