The best thing anyone can do on dA is leave long comments! They are the reason I am here - whether I write them, receive them or read other people comments on other artists work!

it's like.. like people carrying their.. sticks? in the moonlight, i guess.. but it's too bright, so probably that's a sun.. only with a hole in it. like burned out. but that line.. horizon? not? hm. those sticks.. like trees. is it forest? is it people walking in forest? or people carrying something.. why nine? 'cause it's magical number, os something? or 'cause it looks damn great? that halo looks beautiful. really, like a burned out hole in the sun. or is it maybe fire? fire columns? like trees on fire.. but it still looks like people to me. damn, what an amazing textures, shapes.. I do not have much time to look at it, cause I'm accessing dA from school ^^' well, maybe next time I'll take more time..

I counted & there are "nine" of what I don't honestly know. The shapes make me think of fire or trials by fire.
One of the things I love about your art is that it is not always apparent what it is or conveys. Sometimes the art speaks to the watcher immediately & sometimes it makes you wait. I am waiting (for enlightenment).

Thank you so much, ilil.
I have been using the limestone dust for years now, there's just something about it, the paintings are not the same if it isn't in there somewhere, and there's usually a lot of it, but it is definitely a material for a dedicated studio as it gets absolutely everywhere. (:

It is always great to see your new work Niel!

This is very evocative... like it might have some magical meaning, something one would see in an ancient temple wall, and at the same time looks totally contemporary.

Thank you very much, I like a lot that you commented on the ancient/contemporary...let's say, 'time blur' in this piece.
