Lien, It's the most beautiful poem I've ever seen..

great...

Your poem tells me of dark, high street shop fronts. Ill lit, run down and sad.

Brixton by night!

Instant fave, Neil. It's so nice to see a shift in colour from you. The blues glow gorgeously, and the mix of cubic and crystalline forms pulls the eyes into a deep cavern of structural beauty.

This reminds me vaguely of pieces I love by Klee and Rothko; but more than anything, it's immediately recognisable as one of yours. Truly jaw-dropping.

There seems to be a saloon door (left) , a curtain made of beads (right) & the backs of chairs at the bottom. This has a Neon glow to it that reminds me of dark restaurants with ambient light so low you don't know what you are eating or of a seedy bars at night with LIVE entertainment.

neil-had a second before nap to get on.
this is dee and beautiful. i don't know...in my eyes-a bit different from your other work-while i truly love it-it is not one of my faves. (it is ok to be honest-right?-i see most disagree-which i am glad--balance etc) i love it-but..something is missing that i normally see in your work. urgency. or..maybe not sure. don't-please don't take it as i don't like it--it is just not -i like others more is what i say.
i hope you are always honest with me. i love that you are back at it. i thought you had 2 TWO to put up?? maybe soon?
oh-i know--not urgency-but less of that mysterious(whilr this is very mysterious)-less of um..the "need" to get it out. does this make sense?
hope it is good to be honest?
you are truly the most brilliant painter i know-so-i feel iyou have mixed stuff. maybe it is just different and i have to loook at it with different eyes. it is a shift.
if anything-it feels less haunted. it is like the depths of the poem are far away. deep under under water perhaps. not within reach-yet written in clors and seen as words on a sheet as mirage.
just me. i am gladf many other disagree :D
i am just glad to see all sorts of work by you. you never take to staying on one or two stairs. you have the gift of exploration to express what you need to express. a sort of pursuit of vision mind and clarification is how i read it.
anyway-nap. btw-the more i look at it-the deeper it goes. i definitely am just not used to....how to say.
no. said.
except..as i look longer-i like it more. still not my fave of faves. but so what.
i wish -and i will shut up now...

I find meaning and story in your use of color.

Artists are magical helpers. Evoking symbols and motifs that connect us to our deeper selves, they can help us along the heroic journey of our own lives.
